How is SWIMS integrated into the NHS Knowledge and Library Hub?
Title records for print and electronic books (including Kortext and Oxford University Press titles, i.e. all e-books catalogued on SWIMS), as well as media types such as DVDs, are loaded from SWIMS. There is a daily overnight update of new records, deleted records, and record changes. So the data in the Knowledge and Library Hub should be no more than one day behind the data on SWIMS.
For libraries using the SWIMS system for circulation, all of these title records will be retrievable. Some libraries belong to the SWIMS Network as ‘affiliated’ members and don’t use SWIMS for circulation; these libraries will not be able to retrieve SWIMS records in their instances of the Hub.

If you spot any problems, e.g. books not included which should be, please contact the SWIMS Core Team.
Journals
Records for print and electronic journals on SWIMS are not loaded in the same way that books are. Instead local administrators need to ensure these are selected in EBSCO’s Holdings and Link Manager (HLM) to ensure they are retrievable in the Knowledge and Library Hub.
Linking to the SWIMS OPAC
It's also possible to have a link to the SWIMS OPAC on the landing page of your instance. If you would like this, please complete the request form for each instance.
