How can I improve the display of print journals in the Knowledge and Library Hub?
If you have print journals, there are options available to improve the display for your end users. Please also see the FAQ on the default display for print journals.
Using these options, the user can click on the Access Item button and one of the following messages will display:
- This item is available in print. Visit the library to access it.
- This item is available in print. Request a copy here.
- This item is available in print. To access it, visit the library in person or request a copy here.
The wording of these messages can be customised.
Option 1 will display text on the screen, although this can be customised to provide a link to a local 'contact us' webpage, or to your library's entry on HLISD.
Options 2 and 3 open a pre-populated ILL form.
How to set up your preferred option
1. Find the package name assigned to your print journal holdings.
To do this, search Holdings Management (HLM) for a title of a print journal that you hold. You will retrieve one or more packages, and you can then filter the results on 'Selected'. The package name appears in the left-hand column.
2. Populate the Links section in Holdings Management
- Go to Holdings Management and click on 'Links'
- Then select 'Create New Link' and then click 'Continue with Selection'
3. Enter details as follows.
For option 1:
-
