How does the Kortext collaborative purchasing model work?
Kortext provides a collaborative purchasing model whereby you can create or join a collaboration of up to 35 NHS organisations.
Any e-book title which is purchased by a participating library is made available by Kortext to other libraries within the consortium.
Books from Kortext are generally purchased in perpetuity, on a credit model basis. There are 300 credits per title which are automatically renewed each year. The credits in a consortium are therefore shared between all the libraries. If they should run out, more would need to purchased, but in reality this has never happened even with popular titles.
There is an existing London and Kent, Surrey and Sussex consortium which is currently up to capacity.
Another regional group exists for the Midlands and East of England.
If you are interested in joining one of the above consortiums, or creating a new regional or specialty based group, please contact Helene Gorring
