Why might I need to decline to supply in INCDocs?
The ILDS good practice guidelines state that supplying libraries may decline a request for the following reasons:
- the journal is part of a token access, or pay-as-you-go collection
- your holdings indicate access when in fact you don't have access
- the CLA Check Permissions tool shows the journal is excluded from the NHS Licence for digital copying
- the request has been declined previously
- there is a technical issue which prevents you downloading the article
Please state the reason in INCDocs when you decline. This is mandatory.
All the collections you have selected in Holdings Link Manager, except for suppressed collections, are searched by INCDocs. If you have token access collections, you can suppress these from INCDocs. See this help and the request form.
If your holdings are incorrect, take steps to update the holdings information in Holdings Management in your instance of the NHS Knowledge and Library Hub. Maintaining your holdings in Holdings Link Manager is vital for good user experience on the Hub, LibKey Nomad and database searching. Incorrect or out of date holdings will cause requests to fail which slows the speed of delivery and generates noise in the system.
There is a time lag between updating HLM and the data being searchable in INCDocs. See How often are Libkey and INCDocs updated? for more information.
