How do I obtain usage statistics for Ovid databases?
Ovid databases include: AMED; EMBASE; Emcare; HMIC; Medline*; and Social Policy and Practice.
Access usage statistics reports via the OVID WebStats interface. You will need to contact support@ovid.com for a username and password to be set up for your organisation(s).
COUNTER 5 reports are designed to measure usage for content such as databases, ejournals and ebooks and so should be used for this database and any associated ejournal package.
For databases use the Searches Regular metric and the Database Master Report.
- Login to Ovid WebStats with the username and password for your organisation.
- Select Counter Reports from the main menu.
- Select DR - Database Master Report under the Master heading
- Check the Date Range option and select the start and end dates for the report.
- Select the format for the report. Excel is the default, but CSV and tab-delimited are also options.
- Add the email addresses for additional recipients of the report.
- Press Run. The report will be emailed to recipients. It is sent as a zipped file.
If you wish to schedule the report, check the Schedule to run monthly option and select the either Last Closed Month if you want separate monthly reports or Year to Date if you would prefer a running consolidated report.
Reports are also available in the My Reports tab. See Reporting Schedule for details of any scheduled reports.
* Medline is also available from EBSCO and ProQuest. If you use Medline in these providers' interfaces please refer to the articles on obtaining usage data from EBSCO and ProQuest.
See the eResources usage statistics guidance on the KLS website for more information.
