What Kortext titles are available via the Hub?
All HEE purchased Kortext titles are available via the Hub. This includes the:
Plus the relevant regional collection - North, Midlands, South, and London and KSS.
To make HEE purchased Kortext titles visible in the Knowledge and Library Hub, your regional Kortext collection should be selected in the Databases area, as this provides both the discoverability and linking (you don't need to turn anything on in HLM).
To check if you have Kortext turned on in the databases area:
- Go to EBSCOadmin
- Ensure you have the NHS Knowledge and Library Hub (hee_eds) - eds profile selected
- Click on the Databases tab
- Make sure the Show box is set to Enabled
- You should see an entry for Kortext:
- In this case, it's the North of England version of the database that has been enabled, but it might show for you as Midlands, South or London, Kent, Surrey & Sussex.
If you buy addition titles from Kortext for your own organisation, how you make them discoverable depends on whether you are part of a regional Library Management System, and whether that LMS has been integrated with the Hub.
If your LMS has been integrated, then the metadata and linking is provided via your catalogue.
If it hasn't, then there is no easy way to get any locally-purchased Kortext ebooks integrated at the moment. You will need to experiment with turning on various ebook database indexes to make as many of your ebook titles as discoverable as possible. If you need help doing this, please raise a ticket with the service desk.
We are working with Kortext and EBSCO on a better solution for this, and will update this article as soon as we are able to.
