How can I ensure that the correct OUP e-book packages are switched on for my organisation?
EBSCO and Oxford University Press (OUP) have developed a bespoke NHS collection for e-books in EBSCO's Holdings Management (HLM). By ensuring it is switched it on you can give your users access to the correct OUP e-book content in the NHS Knowledge and Library Hub.
The package is:
-
OxMed eBooks (HEE/NHS) - this is the collection of books that has been purchased centrally for all of the NHS in England..
To switch it n, log in to EBSCOadmin and select Holdings Management from the top menu and then Packages:
Type 'oxmed' in the search box and click Search and two collections will appear. Switch on the core collection OxMed eBooks (HEE/NHS) by changing the dropdown box under Current Holdings to Selected:
The main collection now includes the OUP Specialist Handbooks, so you don't need to switch that on separately.
You may also need to deselect or update another package called the Oxford Medicine Online depending on whether you subscribe locally to other OUP e-books. When access to the OUP e-books was first set up, individual titles were switched on in the Oxford Medicine Online package.
If you do not subscribe to any additional OUP content you should switch this package off. To do this, go to HLM and click Packages to display those selected for your instance.
Find Oxford Medicine Online and de-select the package by clicking Selected and then Remove entire package.
If you subscribe to OUP content locally do not switch off the Oxford Medicine Online package entirely. Instead, deselect only the nationally purchased titles and leave your locally purchased resources selected.
You can find a list of the nationally purchased OUP e-books in the "resources for librarians" section of the OUP-HEE landing page.
