How do I bookmark the NHS Knowledge and Library Hub on my browser?
If you tried to bookmark (or favourite) the NHS Knowledge and Library Hub then you have probably found that the bookmark doesn't work when you next go back to it. That's because the site uses a dynamic URL which is different for each session.
Promotional URLs are available for each instance that provide an easy to share address for your version of the Hub (see What's my local instance? (EBSCO customer ID and local EDS instance URL for yours).
Before the promotional URLs you had to use a URL which looked like this:
https://search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?authtype=guest&custid=nsxxxxxx&groupid=main&profile=hee_eds
Both the promotional URL and this one are referral URLs that take you to a new dynamic URL each time you start a new session. To make your bookmark work, you will need to edit it so that it points to the original promotional URL rather than the dynamic URL.
You can find all your local instance URLs in the article What's my local instance? (EBSCO customer ID and local EDS instance URL).
Editing your bookmark works slightly differently depending on your browser but these pointers may help:
- Chrome - Go to the "Customise" menu > Bookmarks > Bookmark manager. Edit the NHS Knowledge and Library Hub bookmark by replacing the stored URL with the promotional URL
- Edge - Go to the "Settings" menu > Favourites > Right click on the NHS Knowledge and Library Hub favourite and select Edit. Replace the stored URL with the promotional URL
- Firefox - Open Applications Menu > Bookmarks > Manage bookmarks. Click on the NHS Knowledge and Library Hub bookmark and replace the stored URL with the promotional URL
