The NHS Knowledge and Library Hub is designed to provide quick and easy access to information relevant to staff and learners in health and care. A search of the NHS Knowledge and Library Hub will retrieve items from EBSCO’s extensive Knowledge Base. We have selected the datasets listed below in EBSCO’s Knowledge Base to give optimal results.

You can see these datasets listed in the 'Databases' tab in EBSCOadmin (in the profile (hee_eds)).  Generally speaking there is no need for you to make any changes to this list.  (However see this FAQ on locally purchased EBSCO databases.) The list may be updated from time to time at national level.

These datasets do not include all the bibliographic databases purchased nationally.  They include CINAHL and Medline which are supplied by EBSCO. However they do not include the databases supplied by ProQuest and Wolters Kluwer such as BNI and EMBASE.  This also means that BNI, EMBASE etc are not available when you select to 'Limit by Databases' in a search.

Searching the NHS Knowledge and Library Hub does not replace the need for structured searching of individual databases, especially when the search needs to be reported and reproduced. Structured searches of the nationally purchased databases should be carried out in the provider interfaces, all of which are linked from the NHS Knowledge and Library Hub.
